The Crime of Aggression

Graphic Design
Project Overview
My campaign was aimed at connecting Americans or more specifically college students and showcasing the many challenges that face refugees of armed conflict. The other major part of this project is  showcasing the various reasons on why people are fleeing their country. The main premise of this work is to continue the awareness and continued on-going aggression by the Russian military and the devastation they’ve left in their path.

Throughout designing this campaign I researched Ukraine and its historical symbolism. I also looked at deeply rooted imagery to get a better understanding of the country and culture. I used this research to bring in type elements in both English and Ukrainian languages that could be understood from both perspectives. Iconography is another piece of my work that I strongly relied upon to convey these stats and information that gave weight and visual interest in the poster. One common theme throughout the work is the quantity of forms with the works. I utilized these repeating forms to reinforce the gravity of 7.8 million. The last element I want to touch on is the logo or word mark appears in almost every single one connecting all of them. The logo mark is activated within the compositions in various ways while being supportive in others.
